He was twenty years old. He studied at the university and went to England for a month during the holidays between his first and second year. Two days before returning to Slovakia, he went to help a friend wash windows at a construction site. He climbed a ladder that was leaning against the house. "The ladder slipped. I fell from a height of about three meters onto the pavement. I broke my spine, I had a severe spinal cord injury," Aleš Raus (34) describes the moment that fundamentally changed his life.
